Welcome star-gazing aficionados
My name is Terence and I am a physicist and an amateur astronomer. I have created this blog to share with you my passion, which is astronomy. I have dedicated a lot of years on reading the skies, and have gained uncountable hours of exploration, excitement and amusement
I truly believe that amateur astronomy is a great hobby to have, I do not view it as geeky, and if started at an early age can help children develop a lot of skills that will prove useful later on in their lives, such as a mathematical approach to thinking, a positive attitude towards new discoveries, a better understanding of physics, an appreciation of nature, etc. The list is practically endless.
If you own or plan to buy a telescope and you want to see a review on the latest Celestron Nexstar, Meade ETX, or Orion scope, if you are going for something light like a Cassegrain on a mount or something more authoritative like a Dobsonian, or even maybe for something cheap such a Refractor then this is the place to get a review of features on the most current models with the most advanced optics.
On each article I will try to cite external sources that will help you expand your knowledge on various amateur astronomy subjects, like the sites of NASA, and also provide links to videos and images so you will get a better idea about whatever you are reading, might be an article on astronomy or a telescope review.
I hope I will be able to provide you with a lot of interesting content on star gazing the night sky, types of telescopes, updated telescope reviews and reviews on telescopes for kids. I will also give you some information on smaller subjects such as the electronic telescope, or what a usb telescope really is. How to find new and used telescopes, and possibly what to look for when you are on the lookout for ebay telescopes.
